Interior demolition is not priced per square metre like painting: the cost depends mainly on the volume and weight of the materials to remove, access to the site and rubble removal. That is why a serious contractor visits before giving a price.
What makes the price vary?
- Materials: a plasterboard partition comes down quickly; a brick wall or concrete screed takes longer and produces heavy rubble.
- Thickness and volume: 10 m² of floor tiles on a thick screed is far more rubble than 10 m² of wall tiles.
- Access: floor level, lift or not, stairwell width, distance to the street. Many Brussels terraced houses can only be reached through the front.
- Removal: skip size, number of runs, parking permit, waste sorting.
- Technique: manual demolition, chipping hammer, concrete or stone sawing.
- Protection: co-ownership rules, common areas, elements to keep.
Can I get an idea before the visit?
Yes, for the volume. Our rubble calculator estimates volume, weight and skip size from areas and thicknesses, so you arrive at the visit with a concrete basis. At ProDemolition, removal of construction and household waste starts from €500; the rest is priced after the free visit.
How to get a reliable quote
- List what must go (partitions, floors, ceilings, kitchen, bathroom…) and what stays.
- Take a few photos and note the floor level and access.
- Ask for a visit: a quote without a visit is only an estimate.
- Check the quote includes removal, skip, municipal paperwork and cleaning.

Frequently asked questions
Is the price calculated per m²?
Rarely reliably: volume, weight, access and removal matter more than area.
Why a visit before the quote?
To measure and see the materials and access. Without a visit, a quote is only an estimate.
Is the visit charged?
No, at ProDemolition the visit and quote are free.
